You might have heard the news about town, our ground floor area is having an update – including our restaurant. Exciting, we know!
The decision has come about after listening and taking on board our customers’ comments. Our restaurant and top lounge are hubs of activity for the Market Harborough community and we want to make sure that you’re all happy. After all, you’re the ones that will be spending time here.
So, what does our revamp have in store? When will it happen? Will I still be able to come in for a tea and a natter with friends while it’s taking place? These are all important questions to be answered, so let’s get started.
It will come as no surprise to you that we’re proud of our 16th century coaching inn. The Grade II listed building is a historic site in itself in Market Harborough and we have stayed very true to the historic charm.
Whilst embracing the history here is and always will be paramount, we’re sure you’d agree that every now and again an update is needed. For us, it’s all about tastefully matching the new with the old. Our upcoming changes will include a refresh to the reception, restaurant and Foxton room initially, and then to the top lounge.
Breakdown of activities:
After breakfast on Friday February 23rd, we will close our restaurant and Foxton rooms to start stripping them out ready for the builders, sparks and decorators to move in on the following Monday morning.
It is expected that the work will take two weeks to complete, so we’re preparing to be open with our new look towards the end of March. Throughout this period, it’s business as usual, however, we won’t be serving food in the main restaurant but will be serving food from our bar area instead.
Don’t panic, we’ll be open as usual for your teas and coffees too. Nothing is changing upstairs either – our charming rooms will still be open to guests throughout.
This won’t be a radical change to what you all know. It’s more like a much-needed refresh and our work is being done with you, our customers, best interests in mind. The ground floor areas will be back, looking better than ever.
If you’re interested to see what’s in store, we’ve set up some mood boards in our reception area that show the plans before the changes happen. We’re really excited about the change and hope that you like it too.
We’ll be updating our social media pages with pictures and information every step of the way so keep your eyes peeled for more new soon.
